Andrew Balfour spent a decade touring in rock bands before stepping away from music entirely.
What came next was fifteen years building creative and
production teams at Netflix and Yahoo. The work was meaningful. It was also consuming. His creative life went quiet in the familiar way it does when everything else takes priority.
He came back in small windows, without a plan. That return became Black Sands, an award-winning independent music project built in the margins of a demanding life. The project has earned recognition, including a Hollywood Independent Music Award and honors from the Unsigned Only Music Competition.
Along the way, he’s collaborated with top-tier artists and musicians, including Billboard No. 1 songwriters and Grammy winners.
